THE POSITION
As the Relationships Lead at Earth Genome you will be at the forefront of driving the growth and success of Earth Index, our flagship environmental intelligence tool, and our other products by building and nurturing Earth Genome’s relationships with funders, partners, and users. This role uniquely combines product management and partnerships, positioning you at the point of impact for our tools and products.
You will play a central role in facilitating business development across the organization, driving project development, and supporting the creation of new initiatives. By combining research, pricing analysis, project management, and public representation, you will ensure Earth Genome continues to deliver value to users and partners while scaling our impact.
You will report to the Product Lead. You need to be self-driven, and can act and make decisions with little direction. You are a relationship-driven individual who enjoys working at the intersection of technology, science, and business, and are passionate about driving environmental impact through innovative tools and solutions. You are meticulous in organization, and enjoy creating and maintaining systems for keeping teams organized and on track. We are a highly cross functional and collaborative organization, all is done working with others.
RESPONSIBILITIES & SCOPE
- Cultivate, maintain, and track relationships with priority funders, partners, and users
- Facilitate business development activities across the organizations
- Research opportunities in specific environmental sectors
- Support concept development for fundable projects and the proposal drafting process
- Analyze and develop pricing models for Earth Index and related tools
- Support bespoke project engagements with project management
- Design, drive implementation and execute systems for acquiring new users, and supporting existing users, of Earth Index and related tools
- Publicly represent the project, and take part in communication and marketing activities
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in relationship management, business development, or partnerships in a geospatial and AI tech, environmental, or nonprofit context
- Strong research and analytical skills, with experience in pricing analysis and sector research
- Experience in project management, including managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to represent the organization in public settings
- Ability to develop and implement user acquisition strategies
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional, remote-first team
- Direct experience contributing in a digital engineering environment of some kind is very helpful
- Familiarity with environmental issues, sustainability, and climate-related challenges is a plus
- Understanding of nonprofit operations is also a plus
